As an ASAVA accredited hospital you can be assured that our surgical facilities are of the highest standards. From our equipment through to our cleaning regimes everything is scrutinised by independent assessors before we are reaccredited every 4 years.
The surgical suite at Karingal Veterinary Hospital is large enough to cater for 2 surgeries occurring at the same time. This allows us to schedule surgery all day without the risk of having patients waiting too long for their procedure(s) to be performed.
We use specially designed stainless steel surgical tables and patient positioning devices to ensure your pet is in as comfortable a position as possible during surgery. Little things like this make for a faster recovery!
Our surgical facilities are regularly laboratory tested to ensure our standards of hygiene are always high. We are very proud of the fact that despite regular, ongoing testing we have never had a negative result from the laboratory to indicate we have any resistant bacterial species present.
Just like in human hospitals our staff follow strict protocols with respect to reducing the risk of post-operative infections in our patients. All staff entering our surgical suite must wear a surgical cap and mask. During most of the surgeries performed by our veterinarians they will wear complete sterile gowns and at ALL times sterile surgical gloves are worn. We do not compromise on your pet’s health to save a few dollars in surgical consumables.
Having great facilities is only one part of the care we take with our surgical patients. We have a vast array of surgical instruments that allow our vets to perform a range of surgical procedures from delicate eyelid surgery through to repairing fractured legs in Great Danes!
