Did you know that for many dogs and cats their dental disease may not be obvious? While bad breath, bleeding gums and loose teeth can easily be smelt and seen, many problems occur below the gum line and cannot be seen. Our pets can suffer silently from dental problems such as tooth root abscesses without showing noticeable signs of dental disease.
It is only with dental radiology (x-ray imaging) that many of these underlying problems can be detected.
Karingal Veterinary Hospital is equipped with digital dental radiology equipment which allows quick, excellent images to be taken of your pet’s teeth. Taken while your pet is anaesthetised these images allow our veterinarians to more accurately diagnose what is going on below the gum line and better develop a treatment plan for your pet.
All your pet’s dental x-ray images are stored electronically should we need to access them at a later date to assess for changes or monitor a disease process.
We recommend that all dogs and cats undergoing dental procedures have dental x-rays taken to get a full assessment of their teeth.
